Key Findings

  • The study conducted a cross-sectional analysis examining 47 identified low-value services commonly provided to Medicare beneficiaries. That is, these services are common but have little diagnostic yield versus the cot.
  • Its primary goal was to estimate utilization patterns for these services and determine the potential cost savings if their use were scaled back.
