Hepatitis Primer

There are five (5) types of Hepatitis. Some patients present with mild symptoms or show no symptoms at all.

Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver. And inflammation is swelling that happens when tissues of the body are injured or infected. This swelling and damage can affect how well your liver functions.

Hepatitis can be an acute (short-term) infection or a chronic (long-term) infection. Some types of hepatitis cause only acute infections; other types can cause both acute and chronic infections.

Common symptoms of hepatitis–

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Jaundice which is yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes 
  • Dark urine.
